Safer Recruitment Training – 19th June ’23

- Call scheduled for 2.5 hours via MS Teams
- Presentation will be issued 4 working days in advance
- You will need to read the course materials prior to the session, so at the beginning you can highlight any areas that you may be specifically unsure of, or if you have any specific issues/scenarios that you want to discuss. These will be factored into the session.
- After the session, time will be spent reflecting and consolidating training learnt into a development plan
Safer Recruitment Training will help you to:
- Understand the need for effective safer recruitment practice within your organisation
- Understand the process of running your own safe recruitment process
- Develop a full range of safer recruitment documents
- Lead a successful recruitment process and so help to keep children safe
The Law:
- Following the Bichard Report safer recruitment training became mandatory in school settings
- At least 1 panel member involved in any recruitment must be safer recruitment trained
- All settings who work with children should engage in safer recruitment training for their staff
Aims of the Course:
- Understand the purpose of safer recruitment practices
- Understand key roles & responsibilities when recruiting
- Understand the key elements of the safer recruitment process
- Enhance confidence in leading a safe recruitment process
- Consider and debate safer recruitment challenges and demands
- Know how to document the requirements of safer recruitment
- Share experience and expand personal knowledge
