Data Protection Impact Assessment
Ensuring you are using data in accordance with the law
A Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) is designed to guide organisations on their compliance with data protection legislation.
Implementing a DPIA into data management will reveal the processes, access, storage and overall management of a company or organisation’s data usage. It will also help identify any potential risks or areas to improve.
Under UK GDPR, non-compliance with DPIA regulations can lead to fines imposed by the Information Commissioners Office (ICO).
Having one in place enables a data controller, whether that be an individual in a role such as Data Protection Officer or the organisation as a whole, to have an understanding of how to use, protect and manage the data they have access to.
In short, a DPIA will enable you and your organisation to ensure you stay compliant with GPDR.
Our DPIA Guidance offering is often added to packages when we work with clients, particularly if you already have one in place and are not sure if it is adequate enough to meet regulations. Alternatively, we can work with you to put together a suitable plan for your organisation.
