RIPA Training: A Practical Approach for Enforcement Officers
About the Course
The Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act and the Protection of Freedoms Act govern the surveillance powers of local councils, limiting their use of covert surveillance and the use of CHIS informants.
Our experienced team of investigators and surveillance experts use case studies and years of experience to describe the checks and balances that Councils need to have in place to ensure that any use of covert techniques is lawful, necessary and proportionate.
Online Training
- Training is held via MS Teams.
- Course is 3 hours with a half-way break and an additional 30 minutes available for individual questions after the session if needed.
- The presentation will be issued 4 working days in advance.
- You will need to read the course materials prior to the session, so that at the beginning you can highlight any areas that you may be specifically unsure of, or if you have any specific issues/scenarios that you may want to discuss. These will be factored into the session.
- After the session, time will be spent reflecting and consolidating training learnt.
- A certificate of attendance will be issued.
