HOSPICES AND CHARITIES – get ahead with the new DUAA legislation

The new Data (Use and Access) Act (DUAA) 2025 amendment is a positive development for charities/hospices and opens up huge benefits for fundraising, join us for a one hour webinar to update you with all the changes that may apply to your organisation.

The Data (Use and Access) Act recently received Royal Assent and will soon become legislation, amending (but not replacing) the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

One of the key changes is to improve understanding and complying with data protection legislation, making it easier to understand what clarifies as marketing under legitimate interest, for example, or clearer rules on transferring data internationally.

Some of the DUAA updates will mean changes to some business operations, specifically to charities who may find that data protection restrictions are not as challenging to navigate, such as the ‘soft opt in, which allows developed marketing opportunities with personal information collected from supporters, unless they object.

The new DUAA bill will also clarifiy how searches can be done when organisations are sent subject access requests (SARs), potentially reducing the amount of time spent on responding to SARs and ensuring they are adequately completed.

We recognise that this bill may have big changes for many of our longstanding clients and others within the charity sector. We will be hosting two hour long sessions on 16th and 17th July for anyone wishing to get a comprehensive update on what the new legislation will mean to them and their business.
