The Team • Jodie Freeborn

Jodie is an experienced healthcare professional with a 25 year career in the pharmacy sector working across primary and secondary care. Jodie is a registered Pharmacist, and prior to joining BLS, held a number of senior governance positions for the Superintendent’s Office of a large pharmacy corporate, including Data Protection Officer. 

Jodie has a wide understanding of the Healthcare Sector with over 12 years of experience in Patient Safety and Professional Standards, supporting pharmacies across the UK with elements such as audit, inspection and incident management. Jodie has held both office based and field roles, working with senior management to drive the governance agenda. She is experienced in professional training and mentorship, supporting colleagues at all stages of their career from induction to peer review, both face to face and in remote settings. 

Having been the Data Protection Officer for a large private healthcare organisation, Jodie is well versed with regards to the use of DPIA when supporting the development of new projects, producing ROPA/IAR and the management of data protection incidents. Jodie is passionate about the vital importance of compliant data protection policies and procedures in a healthcare setting, and the positive impact good data protection can have on patient care.
