The Team • John Davison

John is a very experienced and strong leader within the education sector having spent almost 25 years teaching and leading in schools. Prior to joining BLS, John spent the majority of his time developing a broad depth of Information Governance and compliance expertise whilst working as a Headteacher in two contrasting schools.

John’s main role as Headteacher was to lead the successful development and implementation of key systems focused around the key areas of safeguarding / OFSTED / Data Protection / UK GDPR.

As Operations Director he works closely with our clients to develop robust information management policies, standards and frameworks to the appropriate legislation and guidelines to support them to stay compliant. He leads our Delivery Team (as well as being our lead trainer) and it is this team who deliver training to clients as well as providing a wide range of support services.

John is leading the growth of our Data Protection services for the Education sector (schools, Universities, Academies etc) and is further strengthening relationships with our Education clients in the UK and Europe.

He specialist areas include Subject Access Requests, data breach and incident management, policy creation and Safer Recruitment.
